Member of the European Academy. Born in 1945, Haifa, Israel. Ph.D. in Geography, Boston University, 1976. Visiting positions: Bar-Ilan University; University of Maryland, College Park; Ben-Gurion University; University of Miami; Boston University; Oxford University. Served as Vice President, University of Haifa, 1995-2004. In 2007-2014, President, Zefat Academic College. Vice-President, International Geographical Union (IGU) 2008-2014. Specialties: geography of information and the Internet; personal mobilities. Publications: eight books; five monographs; over 110 refereed articles and book chapters. Awards and grants: Fulbright Foundation; Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture; Burda Foundation; Association of American Geographers (AAG).
